Hello Machiko, sorry for the very late reply but since the macadamia season is back again so am I!
Nuts from backyard trees can be challenging to crack sometimes because they are small, or large with very thick shells They are hard with any cracker, even a hammer.
    The crack-a-mac usually works.
Sometimes I just put the nut in the cracker any way and just slowly tighten the handle until I can see it is in the center of the nut, (so the point does not slip off the nut). If after a couple of turns it hasn’ cracked it I loosen it up and try the nut in another position. If the nut is small just it is more important to make sure the tip is in the center. Anywhere on the line is OK to try.
I think it will work better with bigger nuts as long as they don’t have really thick shells that happens sometimes with seedling trees, that are the ones that grow in backyards.
Is the screw part of the handle now bent?
